frequently asked questions

What is the load rating of the bridging ladders?
  • A pair of the standard bridging ladders is rated to carry 4000 pounds maximum, or 2000 pounds individually.  This means that a vehicle may weigh up to 4000 pounds per axle, or 8000 pounds total.

What is the load rating of the receiver mounted cargo carrier?
  • The receiver mounted cargo carrier is rated to carry up to 300 pounds over any type of rugged terrain you wish to travel.  The rating of your vehicle and its hitch may be different; please be sure to not exceed their ratings.

What is the load rating of the roof top cargo carrier?
  • The load rating when the bridging ladders are used on the roof top is limited by your cross bar or roof rack load capacity.  Refer to your vehicle or roof rack manual to determine the roof load rating of your particular vehicle or roof rack .

How do I care for my bridging ladders?
  • Clean the bridging ladders with a mild detergent.  Use a file to remove any burrs or sharp edges that may have developed during use.  A non-metallic scouring pad may be used to further smooth the finish and should be used in the direction of the original finish.
  • Periodically recheck the torque of the bridging ladder bolts.  Replace any bolts that become severely corroded.
